Here is why I bought a violin!

About a month ago, on an impulse, I bought a violin. It was after I watched “Le Concert“, for maybe the third or fourth time. That scene especially, where Anghel Gheorghe, member of the Gypsy music band “Taraf de Haïdouks“, plays for Melanie Laurent:

Although I never played an instrument in my life, this is the one I would like to learn. Before I changed my mind, I went to Reykjavík and got a second hand violin. From what I have heard and read, this is one of the most, if not the most, difficult instrument. But never mind, there is a old saying which goes: “Impossible is not French”.
One of my workmates, Julia, knows how to play it and is teaching me. Even if, most of the time, it sounds horrible, it is lot of fun! I can’t wait to be able to play simple pieces, although I perfectly know it is going to take me ages. Until then, I will annoy all that can hear. Fortunately, there are no neighbours 😀
